Prof. Dr. Antonio Krüger

Antonio Krüger holds the Globus endowed chair for “Artifical Intelligence in Retail” at Saarland University and is the scientific director of the Innovative Retail Laboratory at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). His main research areas are intelligent user interfaces and mobile and ubiquitous context-aware systems. In particular, Krüger has worked on the automatic generation of graphics for technical documentation, intelligent navigation systems and personalized media generation. In this context, he looked at generation processes that take into account both the limited technical resources of output devices and the limited cognitive resources of users.

More recent examples of his research come from the domain of mobile and ubiquitous computing. Here, Krüger is involved in projects on interactive display networks, mobile augmented reality, interactive surface computing and instrumented spaces. In his research he combines and advances research methods from human computer interaction, cognitive psychology and artificial intelligence.
