Dr. Jiong Guo

Jiong Guo  headed of the Junior Research Group Efficient Algorithms for Hard Problems  from August 2009 until July 2014..

Short CV

Jiong Guo studied computer science at the University of Tübingen, where he received his master's degree in 2002. In 2006, he obtained a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Jena. From March 2006 to July 2009 he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Jena.

In August 2009, Jiong Guo joined the Cluster of Excellence "Multimodal Computing and Interaction" at the University of Saarbrücken and is currently the leader of a research group whose main goal is to design efficient algorithms for NP-hard problems.

Research interests

  • developing general techniques for design of effective kernelizations

  • establishing a hierarchy of problem kernel classes

  • extending the application field of kernelization algorithms

  • algorithm engineering of kernelization algorithms on real-world instances
