Sebastian Michel has been part of the Cluster of Excellence MMCI and head of the research group Querying, Indexing, and Discovery in Dynamic Data since August 2009.

Awards
Sebastian Michel has received two awards for his doctoral dissertation: the prize awarded by the German Computer Society's Special Interest Group on Information Systems (GI DBIS) for the best dissertation and the Otto-Hahn Medal 2007 given by the Max Planck Society.
