Sebastian Michel has been part of the Cluster of Excellence MMCI and head of the research group Querying, Indexing, and Discovery in Dynamic Data since August 2009.

  • Personalized top-k processing over web 2.0 streams
  • Community discovery in social networks
  • Content based image retrieval at large scale

Awards

Sebastian Michel has received two awards for his doctoral dissertation: the prize awarded by the German Computer Society's Special Interest Group on Information Systems (GI DBIS) for the best dissertation and the Otto-Hahn Medal 2007 given by the Max Planck Society.
