Verena Wolf is Professor of Computer Science at Saarland University since 2013 and leads the Modeling and Simulation group.

Verena Wolf is Professor of Computer Science at Saarland University since 2013 and leads the Modeling and Simulation group. She has served on the program committees of several leading international conferences such as TACAS, CAV, ECCB, FORMATS, SOFSEM, QEST, CMSB and HSCC, and is on the editorial board of the ACM Transactions on Modeling and Computer Simulation. Since 2016 she is a member of the Scientific Directorate of Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics.

Verena Wolf studied computer science at the University of Bonn, where she received her Diploma in Computer Science in 2003. She obtained her doctoral degree in Computer Science from the University of Mannheim in April 2008. From January 2008 until March 2009, she was a postdoctoral researcher at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Since March 2009, she is a member of of the Cluster of Excellence at Saarland University and head of the independent research group Modeling and Simulation.

Research interests

Her research interests are in stochastic modeling and analysis techniques including numerical and sampling based approaches to state-discrete and hybrid stochastic models, with applications in diverse areas such as quantitative biology, epigenetics, epidemics, social networks and performance evaluation of computer systems.
